Kim suggested that the Russian troops fired at the area, since there was a military unit earlier. However, the Prosecutor General's Office, as one of Vadatursky's death, considers purposeful murder. In his opinion, Russia intentionally killed Vadatursky, was also stated by the adviser to the chairman of the Presidential Office Mikhail Podolyak.
