President: The fact that diplomatic efforts are ongoing not mean that Russia should suffer less pressure

During the online participation in the meeting of the European Council, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on partners and continue to increase Ukraine's support, invest in Ukrainian and their own weapons, maintain sanctions against Russia and make efforts to unlock the negotiation process on Ukraine's accession to the EU. The head of state noted that despite the promise of Vladimir Putin to stop attack on energy last night, Russia launched 171 shock drone.

The drones attacked infrastructure facilities, and in particular, Kropyvnytskyi damaged houses, Orthodox Church and school. There are four children among the wounded. “Therefore, your support for Ukraine does not decrease, but on the contrary - lasting and growing. And this is especially true of air defense, military assistance and our general stability, ”the President said. Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that Ukraine needs funds for artillery shells.

Our state is counting on European support of at least 5 billion euros. In addition, important investments in weapons production in both Ukraine and Europe. Separately, Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on partners not to weaken the pressure on Russia. He stressed that sanctions should be stored until Russia begins to withdraw its troops from the Ukrainian land and completely compensate for the losses caused by its aggression.

“The fact that diplomatic efforts are ongoing that Russia must undergo less pressure. This is an extremely important factor in reducing the chances of deception by Russia. And we all know how easily Moscow neglects our promises: one moment they give the word, and in a few hours it means absolutely nothing. That is why we still need to push Russia to peace. Of course, we can do it with the United States and other our partners, ”the Head of State said.

The President of Ukraine also informed about a productive conversation with US President Donald Trump and noted that Ukrainian and American teams would continue to work on achieving a complete unconditional ceasefire. "Putin has to stop making unnecessary demands that only delay the war and start fulfilling what he promises the world," Volodymyr Zelenskyy added.
