A new carbon carrier: in the Russian Federation, the IRC "Stavropol" of the project "Buyan-M" was lowered on the water

According to Russian Admiral Alexander Moiseev, after the tests the ship will be part of the Baltic Fleet. However, if necessary, it can be transferred to other areas. In the Russian Tatarstan, another small missile ship (MRK) of the project 21631 "Buyan-M", which was named "Stavropol" was lowered to the water. According to the Russian media on June 11, this ship is the twelfth and last vessel in this series. The descent ceremony was held at the Maxim Gorky Zelenodole Shipyard.

The Commander -in -Chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Alexander Moiseev stated that after all the necessary tests were completed, Stavropol will be included in the Baltic Fleet by the end of this year. According to him, the ship will play an important role in ensuring the safety of the western borders of Russia and, if necessary, can be transferred to other areas. Project 21631, known as the Buyan-M class, is a series of small missile corvettes designed for operations in the liter zone.

Their main purpose is to perform combat missions on rivers, in coastal areas and closed seas. These ships are an advanced version of the earlier class "Buyan" and have a much more powerful arsenal. They have a compact size: about 74 meters long, width - 11 meters, precipitate - 2. 5 meters, while the speed reaches 25 knots. This enables them to act effectively on rivers, coastal areas and closed seas.

"Stavropol" is a certain danger because it is equipped with modern rocket systems, radio electronic struggle and other naval technologies. The main weapon includes the winged Kalibr-NK-n missiles, the A-190 guns 100 mm caliber, the AK-630M melee system and the ILA-C anti-aircraft missile systems. We will remind, in March 2022 the MRC of the class "Buyan" participated in hostilities against Ukraine, having launched eight missiles "Caliber" from the Black Sea.
