Complex, tragic, necessary: how to introduce effective modern algorithms for the identification of bodies of dead soldiers of the Armed Forces

"First, every DNA test costs up to 40 thousand UAH, and it is about thousands of bodies, and it lasts for weeks. Second, the dead may not have relatives or they may be out of reach, so it is impossible to obtain genetic material for comparison. Thus, the DNA test is not absolutely reliable,"-writes the analyst. According to him, there is a more effective solution. This post about complex and tragic is the identification of the bodies of the dead defenders of Ukraine.

About how it is and how it should be. The family of everyone who died in the war has an unconditional right to a worthy burial of the hero and a bright memory of him. But this is not only a humanitarian problem: without identifying the body, relatives cannot receive monetary compensation. Armed Forces soldiers whose bodies are not identified are considered to be missing without news, and this can last for years.

The situation has intensified when a large number of repatrified bodies of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces began to come from Russia (this is what they are called official). These are not always bodies, for the most part, the remains are very distorted, the identification of which is extremely complicated. I predict that FB-no experts who know more than even AIs will note: "And make a DNA test and ready!".

First, each DNA test costs up to 40 thousand UAH, and it is about thousands of bodies, and it lasts for weeks. Secondly, the dead may not have relatives or may be out of reach, so it is impossible to obtain genetic material for comparison. Third, the DNA test is not absolutely reliable. That is, the identification of repatrified bodies by DNA is expensive, long and not entirely reliable.

That is why in the West, when identifying bodies in natural disasters, aircraft and similar in the first place fingerprints and special signs (tattooing, etc. ), in the second - dental information, and DNA - only in third place. But repatriated bodies are at different stages and in different forms of late cadaveric changes - decay, mummification, skeleton, many strongly burned remains.

It seems, what is the dactyloscopy? And here - the main thing! A group of Ukrainian forensic experts has developed and implemented a technique that allows you to restore fingerprints, and in some cases even tattoos. And this is in a very complex body condition. And then an automated fingerprint system can work in the Ministry of Internal Affairs (as it turned out, most of the Armed Forces soldiers received biometric passports at one time).

It is fundamentally important that there are no laboratories with sophisticated equipment to restore prints. Accordingly, the proposed method of identification is quickly, reliably and almost free. The authors of the methodology - D. Golovin, Head. Vinnytsia's forensic forensic department; R. Tsiba, forensic criminal; N. Todorovskaya, SUBSCIRMENT SPIRMERMENT SUNP in Vinnytsia region-do not claim any special reward or something like that.

They seek that the urgent national problem is solved in a reasonable, not as usual. Here already mentioned experts with the FB will think that representatives of our authorities do not hear experts and reject modern approaches. Oddly enough, not quite so. In particular, the profile deputy prime minister I. Vereshchuk supports a progressive approach, even the appropriate decision at its insistence has made.

But Vereshchuk's positions are clearly not enough to influence the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to the legislation, the decision on identification prepares the investigator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and they are used to DNA tests and do not want anything else. Because then they will have to change their own approaches to which they were accustomed, and they will still need to order in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which do not interact very much.

In short, do not interfere with work as we like. The Verkhovna Rada Committee does not mind initiating changes to the legislation. But this is a long way with an indefinite result. And the families of dead soldiers cannot bury their relatives and suffer now. Also, unjustified losses of the Ukrainian budget, which is so catastrophically deficient. Therefore, I appeal to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine I. Klimenko and the head of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine V.

Lyashko with a request to immediately pay attention to the problem and to work together to work together effective modern algorithms for the identification of the bodies of the dead soldiers of the Armed Forces. Because civilization, if you want, is determined not only by the attitude to the living, but also to those who gave life for Ukraine. Source.
