Moldova sheltered the participants of the B-2 band who opposed the war. Part has already received citizenship

The BA-2 band at the beginning of a full-scale war in Ukraine opposed the aggression of the Russian Federation and the actions of Vladimir Putin. Because of this, they had to leave the boundaries of the Russian Federation and emigrate to Israel. Bass Gitarist of the band "B-2" Maxim Andryushchenko "Lakmus" and managers of the band Alexei Levchenko and Oleksandr Ovcharenko and their families received citizenship of Moldova.

The relevant decree of Moldova President Maya Sandu was published yesterday, May 27. In particular, the decree lists the names of eight citizens of the Russian Federation who were entitled to Moldova's citizenship. "Maya Sandu President signed a decree on granting citizenship of the Republic of Moldova to several participants of the B-2 group and their families. Our country is open and hospitable for people who choose peace that contribute to friendship and respect between peoples.

After they opposed the war in Ukraine. It is worth noting that at the end of January 2024 the band "B-2" was detained in Thailand. Then the law enforcement officers detained the seven participants of the band-Shura B-2 (Alexander Uman) and Leva B-2 (Yegor Bortnik), as well as Andriy Zvonkov, Max Lakmus, Boris Lifshitsa and Yana Nikolenko. Already in April 2024, some of the band members wrote a request to the Moldova government to obtain their country's citizenship.

The "B-2" against the war in Ukraine was the cause of this by repression by the Russian authorities. In particular, it is said that after February 24, 2022, the band "B-2" expressed their position on the war and went to the side of Ukraine. Because of this, part of participants in the Russian Federation was recognized as "foreign agents". The band members themselves found shelter in Israel. But in January, they were detained during a concert in Thailand.
