No analogues: Russian companies buy foreign software contrary to sanctions

The Russians use the software to visualize data and solve other business problems. Russian companies continue to buy foreign software because there are no quality domestic counterparts. About it writes the portal Servernews, referring to the research of "Justfin. tech for business" specializing in the purchase of software and payment of licenses.

Experts analyzed their customers' payments and requests in the last six months and found that during this period the Russians spent almost $ 2 million on foreign software, with an average of 500 thousand rubles on average. Russian companies have paid or are going to continue subscription to 30 types of services, including Thinkcell, Amazon Web Services, DropBox, Gsuite, ClickMeping, Jira.

The most popular were data visualization services and analytical businesses Power Bi and Tableau, as well as automated design (Autodesk)-about 65-70% of payments. In other cases, the Russians paid mainly multifunctional programs that different types of business and even individuals, such as Zoom, Miro, Figma or Slack, need. According to justfin. tech operating director, Russian companies are now unable to abandon foreign software, since many programs in Russia simply have no alternatives.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin forbade the Russian authorities to use foreign software to meet the needs of critical infrastructure. He also instructed to develop analogues for the software of companies that stopped working with Russia after the invasion of Ukraine, including Microsoft, IBM, Dell, Cisco, Intel.
