Over time, the number of countries that support Ukraine and do not trust Russian...

During this war, the army and the people of Ukraine showed that one can not be afraid and not perceive too seriously what Russian propaganda - Andrey Yermak says on the round table of the Brookings Institute

Over time, the number of countries that support Ukraine and do not trust Russian propaganda will increase, but it is necessary to work on. This was stated by the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak during an online roundtable organized by the American Institute of Brookings. The event was attended by about 50 scientists, public figures and opinions. The meeting was moderated by Vice President, Director of Foreign Policy of the Brukings Institute Suzanne Meloni.

Answering the questions of participants in the difficulties of Russia's recognition by the sponsor of terrorism, Andriy Yermak emphasized that the Russian Federation is a country that is guilty of a terrible war in Ukraine, which bombs civilian objects, kills peaceful people, including children, creates concentration camps. Therefore, it must be recognized as a world of a sponsor of terrorism.

The Head of the Presidential Office expressed gratitude to the UN and the Secretary General of the Organization of Anthony Guterrish for leadership in the implementation of grain initiative and other projects. “Sometimes the level of personal communication is important. It happened that we talked twice or thrice a day if it was necessary if something caused concern-a food crisis or the release of prisoners. Of course, we are very grateful, ”said Andrey Ermak.

The head of the office of the Head of State recalled that 143 members of the UN General Assembly voted for the resolution in support of Ukraine's territorial integrity. "And this is another powerful signal that the free world community has a great future because it has a strong position," he said. Those countries that have not yet decided, need to work more hard, because sometimes the government's position has changed depending on moods in society.

“That is why it is so important that people around the world know the truth about what is happening in Ukraine. We are very grateful that many free media journalists come to Ukraine and work here, show the truth, ”Andrey Ermak is convinced. He also noted that many world leaders changed their opinion when they visited our country and saw everything with their own eyes.

"Because one thing is when you see something on TV and a completely different one when you personally visit Bucha, Irpin and other cities," said the Presidential Office Head. Andriy Yermak expressed his belief that the number of countries that support Ukraine would grow, because all adequate people seek to live in peace and do not want a new world war.

As for some international organizations that have not yet understood that with the beginning of this war, the world has changed and no longer live in bureaucracy at a time when someone is killing people, they, according to Andrew Ermak, have no future.

The head of the Presidential Office said that today on the tables of the leading states of the world there are recommendations on security guarantees for Ukraine, developed by the expert group chaired by Andrei Yermak and former NATO Secretary -General Anders Fog Rasmussen. “Leaders very seriously consider this document and the prospects of Ukraine to obtain these security guarantees. Of course, this is a great job. Of course, time is required. But this is absolutely real.

We get very positive signals from our partners, which will be the first step in this direction to provide air defense systems. And the range of guarantors will consist of countries that produce such means, ”Andrey Yermak said. The head of the head of state also spoke about work in the direction of increasing sanction pressure on Russia.

When the international group on sanctions against Russia, headed by Andrey Yermak and ex-US President for National Security, Ambassador Michael McFol, became clear, it became clear that despite the good names in practice, the sanctions were quite limited. “For example, there was a question of sanctions against representatives of the immediate surroundings of the Russian President, but they almost did not find assets or business interests in Europe or the US.

But a few months later, the sanctions were applied to their families, children, partners, and it became a more serious event, ”he said. In addition, the most recent document proposed by the Yermak-Macfola group contains recommendations to the world governments on the application of sanctions to members of the Unified Russia Party, Russian propagandists, the leaders of thoughts and stars of show business, which spread Kremlin propaganda.

“This is an extremely powerful argument, and we are waiting for these sanctions to be applied as soon as possible. Because this war is criminal, and Russian citizens should feel responsible for it and stop supporting the Kremlin's policy, ”Andrey Yermak said.

Asked whether one of the world leaders put pressure on Ukraine for the beginning of negotiations with the Russian Federation to end the war as soon as possible, the head of the head of state reminded the words of President Vladimir Zelensky, who at one time noticed that only his little son could press on him. “If you be honest I do not feel any pressure. And even if someone is in mind, they realize that it makes no sense to ask for it, ”Andrei Yermak said.

He stressed that before the war, the leaders of many countries of the world consumed Russian propaganda and tried to build diplomatic and economic ties from the Russian Federation. “But during this war, Ukraine, the Ukrainian army and the people destroyed many Russian narratives and showed that we can not be afraid and not perceive too seriously everything that Russian propaganda says, and instead to offer ours - the free world - ideas, our narratives, our policy .

Because we are on the side of the light, ”Andrey Yermak said. The head of the Presidential Office emphasized that Ukraine will achieve absolutely clear goals for Ukraine. In particular, it is the return of all the occupied territories and the restoration of the territorial integrity of our country within the framework of internationally recognized borders. The second is the liberation of all Ukrainians now being held in Russia and in temporarily occupied territories.
