A coalition from 11 countries, led by Dania and the Netherlands at NATO summit in Vilnius, agreed to teach Ukrainians on the F-16 and possibly other fighters, the interlocutors indicated. Training may not start without signing the US State Department for the transfer of instructions, aviation believers and other things related to the aircraft. Pilot training program wants to launch in August in Denmark, and to create a training center in Romania, officials say.
According to one of the sources, in the first class there will be from six to nine Ukrainian pilots. They will be helped by Romanian, Bulgarian and Slovak experts. The Ministry of Defense of Norway stated that two F-16 aircraft will be allocated for the program. "There are now no signs that the US will not give green light. The requests of Europeans have been under consideration for several weeks," the sources said. State Department officials refused to comment on this issue.
The representative of the Netherlands Ministry of Defense said that every step in training the use of F-16 fighter jets is done in close cooperation with Americans and other partners. Focus earlier wrote that for the effective use of F-16 fighters, the Ukrainian army requires good radio electronic fighting systems and radio intelligence.
