Estonia has closed the border with Russia - the media

The Narva-Ivanhorod checkpoint no longer misses Estonians or Russians. This is associated with both dismantling in the Soviet monument and anti -Russian sanctions. On Tuesday, August 16, Estonia closed the border with Russia at the checkpoint "Narva-Ivanhorod". A number of Russian media, in particular - and "RIA Novosti" has already wrote about it. It is now known that border guards do not miss either Russian citizens or women with Estonian passports.

Official information about why the checkpoint does not work until it appeared. The media has nominated that this is due to the fact that the Narva is now dismantling the T-34 monument and other Soviet memorials. It should be noted that the monument was truly removed from the pedestal to move to the Estonian military museum in the War, and for safe transportation restricted the movement of Narva-Narva-Jesuu.

A few days ago, more than 700 cars were lined up near the checkpoint on August 12 at Narva (Russian Federation). They were willing to cross the border with Estonia and leave Russia. According to eyewitnesses, 753 vehicles were calculated in the queue. Of these, 297 are cars. Those drivers who have managed to book in advance are waiting for ten hours in the open area under all weather conditions. Again arrived in their cars will have to wait a day.

The "traffic jam" on the border of Russia and Estonia may indirectly be due to the fact that the parliamentarians of the latter have approved a ban on entry for Russians with Estonian visas. It takes effect from August 18, 2022. The exception was made for: earlier Focus wrote that Estonia would close entry for Russians with Schengen visas since August 18. The decision will not affect Russian diplomats and their families, as well as international trade workers.
