According to Russian media, locals were frightened by the sounds of shooting and explosions, as the authorities did not warn about "planned training". In the area of ​​the Bay Novorossiysk explosions, after which a fire broke out on the opposite bank. The residents of the city also heard the sounds of firing automatic weapons. This was reported on December 9 by Astra Telegram-channel.

"About 11:55 there were explosions, by about 12:20 they stopped, but the automatic queues began, and now something very similar to the fire on the opposite bank of the bay. Local media with reference to the comments of the head of the CA and NA of Novorossiysk Igor Vasilyev reported that they would allegedly conduct training near the military base.

However, local publications write that explosions and shooting frightened the residents of Novorossiysk, since the authorities did not warn about the population. It should be noted that the reports of alleged training on social networks appeared in about 10 minutes, as residents heard the sounds of explosions. Also, at the time of the publication, Ukrainian official sources did not report a military operation in the Novorossiysk district.
