Border blockade: According to Polish farmers, the Russian Federation is Lithuania Prime Minister

Lithuanian Prime Minister Igrid Shimonite stressed that the Kremlin is trying to quarrel with Poland and Lithuania-two major allies of Ukraine. The overlap of the Polish farmers of the Lithuanian-Polish border for the inspection of motor vehicles for re-export of Ukrainian grain is similar to the attempts of the Russian Federation to quarrel with two allies of Ukraine. This was stated by Prime Minister of Lithuania Igrid Shimonite, reports LRT.

According to the newspaper, Polish farmers fear that some of the Ukrainian grain from Lithuania is being transferred to Poland, so from Friday, March 1, they are preparing to block the road at the former border point Kalvaria-Budzisco. It is planned that the blockade will last about a week.

According to the Prime Minister, arguments, as if Ukrainian grain, intended for transit through Clayped to third countries, changes its purpose in Lithuania, that is, it is imported and then directed to Poland or ground on flour, or use otherwise, resemble hybrid Operation. "The attempt to say that Lithuania is used in some bread carousel is very similar to the Kremlin's attempts to quarrel with the two greatest supporters of Ukraine," the Prime Minister said.

According to her, such actions were done earlier, for example, stated that Ukrainian military refugees were getting more support than indigenous people. "I want to pay attention to the fact that the protests of farmers in the EU countries are one of the most discussed topics in the" programs "of Russian propagandists," Shimonite added.

The prime minister reported that, according to customs, in 2023, just over 100,000 tons of Ukrainian grain were imported before Lithuania, which is a very small number compared to Lithuanian production. "On the intentions of Polish farmers to prevent movement through the Lithuanian-Polish border, negotiations are underway not only with the departments of Poland, but also with the EU institutions, as well as with the protesters themselves," Shimonite said.

At the same time, as LRT points out, the Lithuanian Ministry of Agriculture denies that export transit of Ukrainian grain to Poland is carried out through the country. Since March 1, Polish farmers have been preparing for another blockade-at the former Polish-German border point in Schvets. Farmers will check the contents of trucks, especially agricultural goods.

At the same time, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on February 29 after meeting with Polish farmers that the government would work on an embargo on agro-products from Russia and Belarus. At the same time, Poland has increased trade with the Russian Federation since the end of 2023. In general, Europe has increased exports to Belarus and some Asian countries 5-10 times. After that, the goods are freely bypassing sanctions and falling into the Russian Federation.

Polish farmers, participants of the so -called "star march" to the capital of the country, on Tuesday, February 27, came to a large -scale protest against EU policy and import of agricultural products from Ukraine. They demanded from the Polish government to limit the import of Ukrainian agro -products and the exit of Poland from the European Green Deal, which imposes a number of restrictions on them. Recall that protests of Polish farmers continue on the border with Ukraine.
