Power Partnership: How JTi Ukraine helps communities withstand and develop during the war

To spread: the war changes everything - and the business is not standing away. For JTI Ukraine, this is not just a challenge, but an opportunity to rethink its role in society. The company actively supports what matters - the welfare, safety and development of communities. Social initiatives are not a tribute to fashion, but part of corporate culture and long -term strategy.

JTS Ukraine is a part of Japan Tobacco International, and adheres to the 4S model of consumer interests, employees, shareholders and society in its approach. And her mission - the creation of a better future - is embodied through the support of inclusivity, sustainable development and a long -term positive impact on people's lives. The company helped communities since the start of activity in Ukraine in 1999.

During the Great War, since 2022, JTI directed more than UAH 500 million to support employees and communities. In 2025, the company sells a number of projects in partnership with charitable foundations and public organizations. "Our goal is to increase community inclusivity due to improving the availability, well -being and implementation of long -term influence programs," - said Andriy Fita, Deputy CEO for Corporate Affairs and Communications JTI Ukraine.

Among the key areas is the help of elderly and people with disabilities. In partnership with Karitas-Kiev, the company provides humanitarian assistance to lonely elderly people: product and household kits, social workers' services. In the last year, internally displaced persons (IDPs) have also been attached to the project, and in total, about 500 people receive assistance every month.

The Fund also implemented a project of assistance to the population of the Kyiv region in the first military winter of 2022-2023. JTI Ukraine helped residents of deocal areas, blankets, and insulation. A similar project from the Gight for Right engulfed people with disabilities throughout Ukraine - they were provided with heaters, vodka, spinners, and thermal underwear. The company supports geriatric boarding houses - purchases equipment and sells training programs for staff.

The direction is implemented in partnership with the Let's Help Foundation under the auspices of the Ombudsman's Human Rights.  “We strive to improve the living conditions of the elderly through the advanced training of boarding school workers. This year, the training seminars are held in 10 cities of Ukraine, ”explains Andrey Fita. JTI Ukraine cooperates with the Superhumans Foundation. “We support veterans reintegration programs.

It is the help of centers in Lviv and Dnipro, the support of Rivne Rivne and Social Reintegration and Career Advice. In addition, assistance with prosthetics of the Armed Forces and civilians, ”said Andrey Fita. Separate social initiatives of the company are aimed at helping people displaced to other regions as a result of hostilities. It is in particular about the arrangement of temporary shelves for IDPs, providing nutrition and hygiene products.

Support was also organized for the victims of the Kakhovsk Hydroelectric Power Plant after blasting the Russians. The standard of living of communities is an important priority of the company. JTI Ukraine cooperates with local authorities in Kremenchug, where its factory is located. Projects on the arrangement of parks and green areas were implemented in the city.

Also, assistance was provided in the purchase of modern equipment, furniture, computer equipment and bicycles for social workers in the amount of about UAH 1. 2 million in order to strengthen the capacity of the Center for Social Services "Care", aimed at reintegration of veterans, assistance to IDPs and the elderly. In Kiev, in 2024, the company helped to restore Kyoto Park-planting trees in partnership with the Ukrainian-Japanese Cultural Center.

A separate direction is the JTi Foundation projects that cover Ukrainians both in Ukraine and in Europe. One of the largest ones is the demining of territories in the Kharkiv region in partnership with the FSD (Fondation Suisse de Déminage). “JTI Foundation provided equipment and resources worth 500,000 Swiss francs in order to cooperate with the Ukrainian Association of Sappers, they were able to mine in Kharkiv region.

In August, the second stage of the project ended - 38 million square meters of territories were investigated and marked. It is one of the largest areas of humanitarian marking in the region since 2022. In the future, this creates the conditions for the return of people and the restoration of infrastructure in these territories, ” - said Andrey Fita. JTI Ukraine continues to implement social projects, whose main focus is to help people affected by the war.
