Referring to numerous conflicts in the world, "from holy land to Ukraine, from Lebanon to Syria, from the Middle East to Tigrey, in Ethiopia, and in the Caucasus", the American Pope condemned this violence and called for efforts to achieve peace. "I will do my best to make this peace spread," the new Pope promised.
"The people want peace, and by putting my hand on the heart, I tell the leaders of the people: let's meet, let's talk, let's negotiate! We will add that Pope Lion XIV did not make public statements about war in Ukraine. He did not appear in reports of official visits to Ukraine or participation in peacekeeping initiatives related to conflict. However, the Pope criticized Donald Trump and Jay Di Jens.
