In Kostyantynivka, a car with foreign journalists and volunteers came under fire: video of the attack

Share: In the Kostyantynivka district of the Donetsk region, an unmanned aerial vehicle of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hit a car carrying journalists and volunteers. The car was critically damaged. On November 8, military correspondent Andrii Tsaplienko published footage of an enemy drone attack on social media. According to him, the vehicle was hit by a drone while driving.

A group of volunteers and a film crew were in the car, including the Austrian journalist, correspondent of the ORF TV channel Christian Verschütz. According to Tsaplienko, fortunately, there were no casualties — the passengers managed to leave the car after noticing the approach of the UAV, but the car itself cannot be restored.

The footage shows damage to the car by shrapnel, and of a rather large size, which would inevitably lead to death, or at least to injuries, if the passengers did not have time to run away. According to other sources, a minibus of the "Proliska" humanitarian mission was hit. Yevhen Tkachev, the head of the volunteer team, shared the details of the attack. According to him, it was a fiber-optic FPV drone equipped with an anti-tank charge, so it penetrated the armored vehicle.

"It was flying slowly right under the anti-drone net. Then it seemed to hang or reduce the speed to a minimum, as if looking at who to attack, or hesitating: to hit or not to hit. . . " he wrote in the comment. Note that a similar incident occurred in Kostyantynivka on November 6. As Serhiy Gorbunov, head of the Konstantinov city military administration, reported, a Russian drone attacked a car, as a result of which a man was injured.

"Similar attacks on the front-line cities of Donetsk continue to testify to the purposeful actions of the enemy against civilian infrastructure and the civilian population," the official wrote on social networks. We will remind you that on September 3, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation shelled Kostyantynivka, Donetsk region, with barrel artillery. It was reported that the target of the occupiers was a residential neighborhood — as a result of the attack, three women and five men died.
