The military potential of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was told on January 17 by the representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense Vadim Skibitsky during a discussion in the framework of the Deciding Your Tomorrow at the International Economic Forum in Davos-2024 (World Economic Forum 2024).

Skibitsky released information from Ukrainian intelligence during a press conference that took place on the second day of the Deciding Your Tomorrow project. According to him, the Russian Federation does not have so many reserves to carry out major strategic offensive actions in Ukraine. The Western world began to be frightened by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the speaker said. However, in his opinion, the second front and the offensive, which was spoken by the Kremlin head, will not speak.

"Today, the land component, the airborne component of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is not capable of conducting strategic offensive operations. Storm tactical actions - yes, and we see it, they will continue, but strategic offensive operations without powerful strategic reserves - it is impossible to do so," he said. . On the other hand, Skibitsky noted, it is not necessary to expect a ceasefire in Ukraine.

Even if this situation happens, the Kremlin will use this opportunity to restore strength and continue the war. "No one now speaks of deaf defense and, moreover, the ceasefire. Because any ceasefire of the Russian Federation will use to improve the tactical position and obtain the ability to open new areas for hostilities. " It should be noted that the International Economic Forum in Davos-2024 began on January 15 and will last until January 19.
