Worked with Zelenskyi: Russian director Serhii Polityk was killed in Moscow (photo)

As reported by the Russian media with reference to relatives of the deceased, the cause of the quarrel was Serhiy Polityk's long "struggle" for the safety of his entrance. According to him, persons connected with the distribution of drugs regularly gathered there. According to the relatives, Serhiy encountered a couple of drug dealers at the entrance and made a remark to them. "This was his principled position - he did not want to tolerate disorder in his home," said relatives of the deceased.

Witnesses say that the verbal altercation quickly turned into a fight. The man, to whom the remarks were made, stabbed the director at least once in the chest and fled. "As far as we know, the conflict was recorded. After the exchange of remarks, the man suddenly returned and stabbed Serhii in the chest with a knife. He was taken to the hospital, but the injuries turned out to be incompatible with life," the source added.

The suspect in the murder is allegedly a foreign citizen born in 1992, who was identified by Russian media as 33-year-old Armen Sargsyan. Serhii Polityk was a famous cinematographer, he worked on about four dozen projects. In his filmography there is a noticeable Ukrainian trace and cooperation with the future president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

In particular, Serhii Polityk was the director of the popular comedy film "New Year's Matchmakers" (2010), where Zelenskyi was the producer and screenwriter. Also in Ukraine, he worked on the TV series "Householder".
