Russian fuel exports fell to the lowest level since 2022: Bloomberg named the reasons

Share: Oil exports from Russia have fallen to their lowest level since the start of the war due to problems at factories and increased Western sanctions. The volumes of oil and fuel oil decreased so much that the increase in diesel fuel supplies could not compensate for the drop. Average shipping volume in the first 26 days of October was just 1. 89 million barrels per day, the lowest since 2022, according to Bloomberg.

Baltic ports suffered the most after the attacks on the Ust-Luga terminal, and adverse weather added new difficulties. At the same time, the decrease in supplies is causing a serious blow to Russia's energy revenues, and Ukrainian drones and Western sanctions are making it difficult to transport and finance oil. In particular, new restrictions for Rosneft and Lukoil further complicate the situation and force traders to look for new routes and change the terms of shipments.

In addition, diesel fuel remains relatively stable and is directed mainly to Turkey and Africa. Meanwhile, oil and fuel oil supplies remain volatile, and long flights to Asia increase the risk of delays. Also, due to the lack of official data on production, analysts assess the situation by sea supplies. Last week, volumes of crude oil from the Baltic fell to a two-and-a-half-year low.

In particular, the data from October 1 to 26 shows: Overall, analysts warn that volumes and delivery routes may change during the rest of the month due to sanctions and the need to adjust schedules. Earlier, Focus wrote that the largest Russian manufacturer of agricultural machinery, Rostselmash, will face a serious reduction in production by the end of 2025. Experts predict that the volume of production of equipment will decrease by 30% compared to last year.
