Kuilot Kuzminov's Murder: Kilters paid by Russian officials in Europe - WSJ

According to journalists, the Russian Federation uses Austria as an operational base, which is why the country turns into a problem for its neighbors. For the murder of the Russian pilot Maxim Kuznetsov, who stole the Mi-8 helicopter for Ukraine, Killer received money from Russian officials from Vienna, Austria. About it writes the newspaper Wall Street Journal.

According to journalists, they talked with Austrian officials, as well as representatives of other countries in Europe and the United States. They believe that Vienna has become a "base" for Russian spies. Many of them coordinate financial and logistics support for murder, sabotage and recruitment in Europe. The publication writes that over the past two years, the number of Russian officials working in Austria has increased by about 100 people (from 400 to 500).

Half of them act as special agents of Russia. For example, officials from the Russian Consulate in Munich, which was closed, went to Austria. The Russian spies are envisaged by the way of moving the military assistance intended for Ukraine. The material states that Russia transports money to Austria with land. Cash "Diplomats" is then transported to other European countries among personal belongings.

Austrian intelligence said that the Russian Federation uses Austria as an operational base, which is why the country turns into a problem for its neighbors. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Austria stated that they were aware of the threat from Russian spies, but still characterize the country as one of the safest. The Russians are opposed to the laws established by law. The fact is that, as journalists write, espionage in Austria is not forbidden until it is directed against Austria itself.
