This opinion on the defense of Bakhmut was expressed by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexei Reznikov in an interview with Gazeta Wyborcza on March 29. "The losses are crazy. Our military believes that only in the Bakhmut direction Russians lose an average of 500 killed or injured on the day," Reznikov said. According to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, this indicates that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation rapidly loses its ability to advance.

"The maintenance of Bakhmut limits the capabilities of the Russians and gives the Ukrainian side stability throughout the front line," said the head of the profile ministry.
