"Gives the Armed Forces stability": Reznikov explained why the military continue to keep Bakhmut

The head of the profile ministry urged to look at the map and make sure that the intersecting terrain and the hills around the city facilitate its defense. If the military abandons Bakhmut, then the defense will have to be in new, less winning positions. The Russian army is unjustifiably overwhelming in Bakhmut's battles, so the Ukrainian military will continue to keep the city in this way to bleed the enemy.

This opinion on the defense of Bakhmut was expressed by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexei Reznikov in an interview with Gazeta Wyborcza on March 29. "The losses are crazy. Our military believes that only in the Bakhmut direction Russians lose an average of 500 killed or injured on the day," Reznikov said. According to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, this indicates that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation rapidly loses its ability to advance.

"The maintenance of Bakhmut limits the capabilities of the Russians and gives the Ukrainian side stability throughout the front line," said the head of the profile ministry. Reznikov also does not share the opinions of those Western military experts and entire institutions that say that the Armed Forces of Ukraine pay an unjustifiably high price for the maintenance of Bakhmut. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine called on everyone who doubts the Armed Forces strategy to look at the card.

According to Reznikov, cross -country terrain and hills around Bakhmut create very good conditions for defense. If the Ukrainian military abandoned these positions, they would have to keep defense in much worse natural environment. We will remind, on March 29, the Minister of Defense Alexei Reznikov told when the APU will go on a counter -offensive. He stressed that the specific timing of the start of the military operation will depend on the decision of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
