The Center for Mental Health named after St. Lion of the Great was opened in Lviv. It is the first specialized institution in Ukraine to provide psychological and rehabilitation assistance to people who have experienced captivity, have undergone torture and moral injuries as a result of Russian aggression.

The opening of the Center was attended by: Deputy Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine Irina Wise, Chairman of the Lviv OVA Maxim Kozytsky, Mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovy, Deputy Minister of Veterans Farhad Farhadov and Ambassador of Belgium to Ukraine Luke Jacobs. Irina Wise noted that the creation of the Center is a continuation of state policy, which was started by the first lady of Ukraine Olena Zelensk in the field of mental health. “Returning justice is not just a lawsuit.

It is also the ability of the state to respond to the pain of every person affected by aggression. Such centers should become a systematic part of the new humanitarian infrastructure of Ukraine - a country that not only fights but also treats, ” - said the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office. The Center was financially supported by the Flanders (Belgium region).

The institution has modern equipment, outpatient rooms, spaces for individual and group therapy, as well as 30 places for longer rehabilitation. Every year, it will be able to assist about a thousand patients. The opening of the Center was held within the framework of the International Forum of the Unbroken Justice, which brought together specialists in medicine, law, diplomacy and psychology.
