The US is already completing work on one of the largest military assistance packages to Ukraine. Yes, the Pentagon is preparing to sign the contracts for weapons and equipment for up to $ 6 billion. Politico writes about it.

According to journalists, defense forces will not soon receive equipment and weapons from these contracts, as it is a program of initiative to promote Ukraine's security (USAI). The material states that as part of USAI, the Pentagon concludes contracts with US defense firms for the production of new equipment for Ukraine, not the use of available reserves in the US. The sources reported that the package will contain Patriot air defense, artillery ammunition, drones, HPs, and air-air missiles.

The publication writes that the head of the Pentagon Lloyd Austin is expected to announce new assistance on Friday during an online meeting, which will be present representatives of more than 50 countries belonging to the contact group on defense of Ukraine. Journalists noted that at the request to comment on the situation, a representative of Pentagon, Lieutenant Colonel Garron Garn said that there were no statements in the department.
