"Just sit in defense - the way to nowhere": GUR explained the expectations of the war in 2024

The extent to which the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex is capable of starting the effective process of production of weapons and military equipment will depend on further fighting, said Vadim Skibitsky, Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate. Ukraine should not only focus on the defense this year and direct the forces to increase our own capabilities, but not everything depends on our country.

Vadim Skybitsky, Deputy Chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, informed the details in Podcast of Ukrainian Pravda. The representative of the department was asked about who would have the advantage of a "long -lasting war" if Ukraine is already involved. He noted that the participation of partner countries is also considered to be. In his opinion, if you take an exclusively defensive position, it will not lead to anything. "Just sitting in defense is nowhere," he explained.

Skibitsky stressed that Russia had a sufficiently mobilization resource. The enemy replenishes the losses, easier to complete the units. The GUR representative drew attention to the development of our capabilities. In his opinion, everything will depend on how much the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex is capable of starting an effective process of production of weapons and military equipment.

The GUR representative stressed that the partners of Ukraine are currently emphasizing the need to localize production, but the Russian Federation demonstrates attempts to scare away from such intentions. Skibitsky noted that Russian intelligence "did not understand-where there is production, and where the shopping center, built in the shops of the former enterprise of the defense-industrial complex".
