The head of government said this during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Tuesday, January 3. The head of government emphasized that Ukraine is part of this year with a clear understanding of how to counteract the aggressor, how to provide the front and keep the rear. In this regard, he voiced 10 government priorities, including planning of the future structure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"After our victory, we need to move to a strong contract army and at the same time give everyone the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that will help protect the country if the enemy attacks again," the Prime Minister said. Schmigal reminded that in July 2023 there should be another NATO summit, to which Ukraine is being prepared now. Therefore, among the priorities for next year is to consolidate the place of Ukraine in the transatlantic security system.
"The Ukrainian army is directly on the battlefield to NATO standards. We are already using the NATO principles of strategic planning, education, staff training and units," the Prime Minister said. We will remind, on January 2 the Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny summed up for the Ukrainian army in 2022. According to him, Ukrainian defenders managed to release 40% of the territories occupied after the invasion of Russia and 25% of all captured regions of the country.
