Where and why rockets fly. What do you need to know about air defense principles

The intensification of rocket firing in winter makes the topic of air defense. In this regard, journalist Denis Popovich explains the principles of this technique, functionality and missile capabilities, as well as dispels some popular ideas and fakes. Due to winter rocket launchers of Ukraine, the topic of air defense becomes urgent again. The information is open and is not secret. The first thing you need to know is that there is nothing accidental in the combat operation of air defense.

The rockets fly only to where they are brought. If, in January 2020, a Ukrainian UIA flight aircraft was shot down over Tehran, it was shot at this aircraft. Point. All conversations about accidental hit indicate either a conscious lie or a ignorance, a complete misunderstanding of the principles of work of anti -aircraft missile systems. In order for the rocket to hit the air target, several consecutive operations must be performed.

The launch of the rocket is impossible until the target is taken to accompany, that is, the implementation of item 3 depends on the implementation of item 2. This sequence works equally for both the MAZR, which operates an individual fighter and for the C-300 or Patriot SCR. The only difference is that in modern SPR this sequence is performed automatically, and in older systems it makes a human combat calculation. But in any case, the launch of a rocket is a well-conscious and proven action.

There are different principles of missile guidance. Modern anti -aircraft missiles can not necessarily use only one of these guidance systems. They can be combined. For example, the PAC-3 rocket uses an inertial guidance system that calculates the finding of a rocket in the airspace with gyroscopes and accelerometers, and on a certain area of the trajectory turns on an active GSN. But in any case, all these systems only work when the rocket flies into the air.

That is, after the entire sequence that precedes the launch of the rocket. Accordingly, anti -aircraft missiles operate only for air purposes. If the rocket loses the target, for example, as a result of the action of passive obstacles I have talked above, it is self -destroying in the air. This is a must -have algorithm. Now you know why fables that Ukrainian air defense allegedly shoots land targets and engages in a residential building is all Russian fake.

The principles and sequences that I have outlined above do not allow anti -aircraft missile, which is aimed at the air target, terrestrial objects. Point! But here you ask: how in this case do rockets that the enemy runs from C-300/C-400 in the ground objects? To do this, they are processed and equipped with a radio command block of guidance, which leads a rocket on signals coming from the radar.

During radio commanding with the use of radar of the complex, the range of action in this case is limited to 35-40 km, in fact, where it can "get" the radar itself. The use of C-300 in the Earth-Earth mode using its own radar makes it vulnerable to drones and artillery. The radio command method of guidance does not provide great accuracy, but in the case of 5V55 family missiles for the C300 P300 this is not required.

The combat part of this rocket during the work releases a cloud of striking elements. This shrapnel is absolutely fatal for people who are not in a reliable shelter, is extremely dangerous for unnoticeated auto equipment, residential buildings, unprotected civilian infrastructure. In fact, it is a non -selected weapon. Any other radar can be used for radio command management, which is able to see much further distances than the staff radar of the complex.

For example, this guidance and targeting can be done from a long -distance aircraft. Such planes are available to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Therefore, the enemy may use other converted missiles for the C-400 Family 48H6 Family, which fly at a much larger distance. In fact, such missiles can run from the Russian Federation and fly to Kiev. Similar cases have already taken place.
