The losses of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in military equipment in the Avdiivka area could exceed the losses during the crossing through the Siverskyi Donets in May 2022 and, probably, losses in the coal in the period from November 2022 to April 2023, analysts said. The armed forces of the Russian Federation could lose more than 109 units of military equipment under Avdiivka of Donetsk region in the period from 10 to 20 October.

This was reported by analysts of the Institute of War Study in its daily report on October 25. Analysts stressed that on October 23, a Ukrainian reserve officer, having published satellite images, confirmed that the occupiers lost more than 109 units of military equipment near Avdiivka from October 10 to October 20. He noted that the most enemy lost combat armored vehicles, namely BMP-1, BMP-2 and MT-LB. There are also losses T-72, T-64, T-80, APC and other vehicles.

The Russian side argued that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation controlled the heap of Avdiivka, but the chairman of the Avdiiv City Military Administration Vitaliy Barabash denied this information and said that the territory was a "gray zone". Also on October 25, the Ukrainian military stated that former Wagner Military PECs could fight near Avdiivka, but analysts did not find evidence of this.

The Institute of War Study added that on October 24, the Russian troops stated that the Armed Forces had counterattacked and pushed Russian forces from Berdichev, which was 10 kilometers northwest of Avdiivka.
