"Disappear in a month": the Armed Forces found ways to fight "invulnerable" drones on the fiber

To spread: the drones controlled through resilience have become a significant threat to the Ukrainian military, but they came up with how to deal with this problem. Due to the lack of radio signals, such UAVs are invulnerable to radio electronic struggle, so the defense forces relied on physical damage. About it writes the site "RBC-Ukraine". Representatives of unmanned the unmanned systems said that they launched a school where the soldiers were taught to shoot FPV-Drome.

Due to the high speed and maneuverability, it is not easy to hit for such purposes, so you need to develop skills. The units in the Kharkiv direction try to pull the nets or install a wire over the roads so that the copters are confused and not fly. Sometimes the military in the ambush is waiting for the drones to come closer and then shoot them with a fraction. The Russians themselves ambush, leaving fiber drones on land near logistics routes in anticipation of Ukrainian equipment.

Some units send patrols and try to find "sleeping" devices before they take off. Sometimes, after span of UAV over the positions, the fiber can cut with scissors or other tools. This allows you to neutralize FPV without a shot, because it loses connection with the operator and simply falls. The 3DTech has confirmed that the cutting of the fiber has become one of the simplest and most effective methods, although it is difficult to do it in practice.

Therefore, engineers develop an alternative in the form of drones-interceptors capable of destroying hostile copters in flight. "In addition, we are working on turlies and automated means of detecting and lesing such threats," the media reported in 3DTech. According to the instructor Dmitry Sledyuk, the fiber drones will cease to use massively if it is possible to create an effective weapon against them. Until they do this, technology can be used for a long time in one form or another.

"If such a weapon appears, these drones will disappear in just a month," he said. In order for the fiber drones in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to be less on the battlefield, the defense forces try to stop their production. In April and May 2025, the Armed Forces struck the factory "Optiotic systems" in Saransk, which is the only large enterprise of the Russian Federation that produces fiber optic cables for the Armed Forces. As a result of attacks, his work was stopped.
