In the Russian Federation, Arsenal Grau was blown up: how many such objects remained in the enemy - analysts

To spread: on April 22 near the city of Kirzhach, Volodymyr region, just 60 km from Moscow, the 51st arsenal of the Main Rocket-Artillery Directorate (GRU) of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation was destroyed. A blow to one of the main logistics hubs of the Russian army can be the beginning of a new stage in the campaign to destroy the Grau arsenals.

In their material, Defense Express analysts say that this is the fourth strategic arsenal of Grau, destroyed after the start of a series of blows in the fall of 2024. Then the 23rd, 67th and 107th arsenals were amazed. It is about the arsenals of Drau - military units that provide storage, repair and distribution of strategic stock of ammunition of the Russian army, in particular artillery and jet shells, mortar mines and missiles.

In contrast to the warehouses of the tactical level ammunition, the Grau arsenals play a critical role in the supply system: through them the centralized distribution of ammunition into smaller warehouses. In addition, their territory works on maintenance and renewal of ammunition are performed. That is why every destroyed arsenal is a serious blow to the logistics of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Analysts emphasize that there are a limited number of such objects in the Russian Federation. According to open sources, up to 11 arsenals of Grau can be in the area of reach of the Armed Forces (including missiles and drones with a range of more than 700 km). After a series of strikes in 2024 and a recent attack on the 51st arsenal, four such objects have already been destroyed, that is, about a third of the entire infrastructure of this type.

Analysts emphasize that the arsenals of the Grau in Russia have not traditionally been modernized and were built in the Soviet period. Since the beginning of a full -scale war, these objects have become one of the priority goals of Ukrainian long -range means of destruction. According to open Russian sources for 2009, the capacity of the 51st arsenal could reach 105,000 tons of ammunition, with a projected capacity of up to 264,000 tons in an area of about 3. 5 km².
