Ukraine is open to Russia's participation in the next peace summit - Yermak

The head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine in a comment Bloomberg stated that the preparation for the next meeting is already underway. Ermak believes that the second summit will be more representative, and its purpose is to "put an end to the war and settle the crisis. " Ukraine may invite Russia to a next meeting with international partners to develop the formula for future peace talks. This was stated by Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, quoted by Bloomberg.

The agency notes that the Kremlin has repeatedly made it clear that it did not intend to join the Ukrainian plan. However, the chief adviser to Vladimir Zelensky admitted such a scenario. According to him, working groups are already preparing for the next meeting after the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland. "There is no timeframe for the next meeting-and the prospect of the second summit, which many suggested, did not appear in the final document of the meeting on June 15-16 in Lucerne.

Although more than 100 countries and organizations were present at this meeting, it did not reach its ultimate The goal is to create a wider global support, "Bloomberg writes. According to Ermak, the results of working groups "will be part of this common plan, which will be supported by a number of countries" at the second meeting. "We think it will be possible to invite a representative of Russia," said the head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian "Peace Formula" involved Moscow's involvement in negotiations as an ultimate goal. But only after the involvement of world leaders in Kyiv's requirements for the withdrawal of Russian troops from all over Ukraine and the recognition of its sovereign borders. However, it was not possible to obtain the commitment of the global South, especially China and India and Brazil.

Many delegates outside the West who came to the summit to Switzerland have confirmed their thesis that a process that does not involve Russia's participation is doomed to failure. India, Brazil and South Africa refused to sign a joint communique on Sunday. For its part, Saudi Arabia warned that Kiev should be ready for a "heavy compromise" to put a point in "conflict". At the same time, Yermak called the Swiss meeting successful.

He is convinced that the second summit will be more representative and "stop the war and settle the crisis. " According to him, Ukraine is open to the involvement of other countries and seeks to combine "responsible countries" on the basis of the Ukrainian plan. The situation on the battlefield can be a factor in future negotiations, journalists write. So far, both sides seem to be in a dead end along the front line over 1200 kilometers.
