Wide Field of Opportunities: What Air Defense APPs can be produced by Ukraine with the USA

Expecting giants as Lockheed Martin would be too optimistic, experts say. However, the United States could jointly produce complexes for the fight against drones or integrate Western missiles into Soviet SPR. During the visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to the United States, an agreement was reached on the joint production of the necessary weapons, including air defense. Defense Express has been figured out what it could be about.

The first is the American Patriot, but the publication is said to be not a very realistic option. However, there are a significant number of variants of joint production of air defense. "We will work together for Ukraine to produce the necessary weapons together with America. Ukraine will be able to produce, in particular, air defense," the Ukrainian president said.

However, at present, the Mines strategra has signed only three memoranda of understanding with the American weapons associations: the publication states that they do not produce weapons. Companies are non -profit organizations that support and protection of defense companies in Arizona and Utah. Despite the fact that these are not direct agreements with manufacturers, there are units of Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, Boeing, RTX, Honeywell, L3 Haris and other companies.

It is difficult for Ukraine to expect that such a giant as Lockheed Martin or RTX will build factories in the country covered by war. However, pragmatic is the production of artillery anti -aircraft systems for the interception of drones. The threshold of entry into such developments is quite low and achievable even for small companies. American defense companies can also accelerate the integration of Western missiles into Soviet SPR.

For example, there is information that the Buk SCR was equipped with RIM-7 missiles. Western anti-aircraft missiles on the Arrow-10 SC could also be put. Such projects may be interested in small companies from the United States. However, it is important here that Ukraine has its own developments in the creation of new anti-aircraft missile complexes or missiles. The US could speed up such developments.
