"Your relative in the Hospital": The woman "earned" over 9,000 in lies about the missing fighters of the Armed Forces

The pseudo -pseudoranda searched through the social networks of relatives of the missing military and contacted them to inform the "joyful news". At least four Ukrainians believed the woman and replenished her account. Law enforcement officers exposed a "volunteer" who made money from the native missing defenders. The press service of the National Police in the Odessa region shared the details of the case on September 27.

According to the investigation, in March, a 32-year-old resident of Odesa region organized information on social networks about the missing persons of the armed forces and their relatives. She called the Ukrainians who asked to help search her loved ones under the guise of a volunteer. The woman said that the missing defenders were allegedly found, and they were in a hospital in Bakhmut.

As the police noted, "playing on the emotions and feelings of" people, she asked her to transfer her money for alleged treatment, food and transportation of servicemen. "The amounts she asked for the victims ranged from several hundred to several thousand hryvnias," police said. The deceived Ukrainians, having heard the joyous news, transferred funds to their relatives, and the pseudo -pseudorapy shot her and spent her.

It is now known that the woman was able to raise more than 9,000 hryvnias out of four people. The resident of Odessa region has been suspected of fraud and is now under house arrest. It may be threatened with a fine of UAH 51-68 thousand, correctional labor for one to two years, restraint of up to five years or imprisonment and a term of up to three years.
