"War is very expensive": the banker explained the idea of the Council on reservation and "redemption" from mobilization

If the budget loses its revenue, Ukraine may lose the opportunity to defend itself at the front, since, as the deputies of Parliament stated, Western assistance for mobilization is not allowed. Not everyone will fight because the state is interested in the fact that the more a person pays taxes, the higher the likelihood that it will not be on the front but in the rear. This opinion was expressed by NV investment banker Sergei Fursa. He noted that any populism should be rejected in this matter.

The state seeks to be effective because "war is very expensive, and Ukraine must finance defense from its own resources. " "From the point of view of efficiency, the state is interested in the fact that the more a person pays taxes, the more likely it will be that it will not be on the front but in the rear," the expert said. For an effective state, according to Sergei Fursa, everyone cannot fight. In view of this, the state needs to determine who should be on the front and to whom - in the rear.

Halyna Yanchenko, a representative of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development, said that any Western money or financial assistance or in the form of loans is not allowed to be used for defense needs. According to her, if the budget does not receive certain revenues, then Ukraine may lose the opportunity to defend itself on the front. "That is why the strength of our front depends on the strength of the economy today, and this is not an exaggeration," she said.

The Ukrainian Parliament considers two possible models of economic reservation, the discussion is ongoing. The head of the Parliamentary faction of the "Servant of the People" David Arahamia, a representative of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, said that the first economic model assumes that the amount of tax on the salary of the conscript should correspond to 35 thousand hryvnias. It is this amount that is necessary to keep one fighter.
