Drones attacked electrical substations in the Volgograd and Kursk regions: thousands of Russians were without power

Share: On the night of November 4, drones attacked the Frolovska electrical substation, which is located in the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation and is one of the links of the supply of light to the Moscow region. The main function of the "Frolovska" substation is the transformation and distribution of electrical energy between power lines of different voltage classes, reported the "Supernova+" Telegram channel, which also released a video showing the moment the substation was damaged.

It is noted that the 500 kV "Volga-East" line passes through the "Frolovskaya" substation, which transmits power from the Volga HPP to the Lipetsk, Ryazan, and Moscow regions. The governor of the Volgograd region, Andriy Bocharov, confirmed the information about the damage to the substation. "A fire was recorded at the site of the Frolovska electrical substation as a result of the falling debris of the UAV.

All forces and means necessary to eliminate the consequences have been sent to the facility," Bocharov said. In addition, on the same night, drones hit the Rylska electric substation in the Kursk region. This substation provides electricity to consumers in three districts of the Kursk region: According to the governor of the Kursk region Oleksandr Khinshtein, more than 16,000 subscribers were left without electricity.

"In the city of Rylsk, as a result of an enemy attack on a substation, an emergency power outage occurred. More than 16,000 consumers in Rylsk, as well as Glushkiv and Korenevsky districts, which are powered by the Rila substation, were affected by the power outage," Khinshtein wrote. At the time of publication of the article, the Ukrainian side did not comment on the strikes on the Frolovska and Rylska power stations in the Russian Federation.
