China helps Iran faster to supply Russia's drones shahd - wsj

Inside one of the enthusiastic drones found a Chinese item released in January 2023. It took the Iranians only three months to collect and send the Russian Shahd, shot down in April. Chinese production details help Iran to quickly collect combat drones and supply them to Russia. This conclusion was reached by analysts of The Wall Street Journal, referring to the study of the British organization Conflict Armament Research.

Experts studied Iranian drone Shahd-136, captured in the territory of Ukraine in April, and found a voltage converter made in China in January 2023. This part was part of the navigation system that is needed to guide the UAV-Kamikadze on the target, but it is in itself commercially accessible. The study shows how quickly Iran can collect and supply Shahd drones to Russia. It took only three months in the case of an instance of Iranian manufacturers.

In this way, Chinese details continue to enter Iran, providing building blocks for its drone program, despite increasing US pressure and international sanctions, designed to break the global supply chain. The WSJ reminded that during the war, the United States and their allies were trying to provide Ukraine with a large number of weapons to stop Russia and liberate occupied territories. At the same time, the Russians sought help from Iran, buying him drones.

According to the Ukrainian military, Russia has launched more than 700 drones to defeat power plants, cities and military facilities, and recently the White House has learned that Iranians had sent hundreds of new UAVs to the Russian Federation on ships of the Caspian Sea. According to the UN in its report, China and Hong Kong have long been the centers of supply of components for the production of drones in Iran.
