The war in Ukraine will be delayed for 5 years, NATO wants to invest $ 100 billion in Ukraine - Siyarto

The Hungarian Minister recalled that Budapest does not change his position on the need for negotiations and believes that over time, the geography of the war can expand. NATO plans to allocate another $ 100 billion in military assistance to Ukraine. This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyarto. According to the minister, in Europe, the perspective of peace is increasingly distant.

"In addition to NATO seeks closer than before, to coordinate the supply of weapons to Ukraine and to prepare the Ukrainian military, now the Alliance wants to pour $ 100 billion into the war," Siarto said. At the same time, he added that the Member States considered the proposal of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in the first reading. "These $ 100 billion should be raised in five years, which means that NATO expects that the war will last for at least five years.

We know that every day of the war carries with us the risk of further spread of hostilities over time and geography, " - says Siarto. At the same time, the head of Hungarian diplomacy confirmed that the official Budapest still adheres to a clear position, which is that there is no decision on the battlefield, there is only death and destruction, and the settlement can only be achieved through negotiations.

"There are no winners in this war and there can be no winners, there are only victorious in this war. Hungary does not want to participate in NATO operations for weapons and military training, the government does not want to assist in the taxpayers' forints," the minister added. Petr Siyarto noted that in the near future his country will defend its position aside from supplying weapons to Ukraine and outside the preparation of Ukrainian soldiers.
