Ukraine imposed sanctions against the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Oleksandr Lukashenko, for aiding Russia in armed aggression against Ukraine

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed a decree implementing the decision of the National Security and Defense Council regarding the application of sanctions against the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, Oleksandr Lukashenka. Ukraine applied sanctions, in particular, for the deployment in the second half of 2025 of a system of repeaters for controlling strike drones - this increased the ability of the Russian army to strike the northern regions of our country.

In total, more than 3,000 enterprises of Belarus supply Russia with machinery, equipment and components that belong to the category of critical importance. In particular, these are components for the production of missiles that Russia uses during strikes on Ukraine. "The development of the infrastructure for the placement of medium-range rockets - "hazelnuts" on the territory of Belarus, which is an obvious threat not only to Ukrainians, but also to all Europeans, is ongoing.

Oleksandr Lukashenko not only gave territory to Belarus for the "nutcracker". Last year, the country's enterprises supplied Russia with critical components, components and the mechanical base for these weapons. This continues in 2026. Oleksandr Lukashenko has been exchanging the sovereignty of Belarus for the continuation of personal power for quite some time," the Head of State noted.

In addition, Oleksandr Lukashenko contributed to the involvement of Belarusian officials in the forcible deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia.

Sanctions against Alexander Lukashenko have already been imposed by the European Union, the United States, Japan, Canada, Switzerland and New Zealand due to the systematic violation of universally recognized human rights, the organization of repressions by the state apparatus against political opponents, as well as in connection with the promotion of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
