In plus Moldova: how the war affected Ukrainian exports to the CIS country

In total, total exports to the CIS country from January to October 2022 amounted to $ 1. 27 billion. Exports to the CIS countries in nine months of 2022 decreased by 23. 8% compared to the same period of 2021. This was reported by the Parliament's press service. According to the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development of Roksolana Podlasa, trade relations with Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan were seriously injured through the war - trade decreased by more than half.

"This is primarily due to the complication of logistics ways through the blocking of the Black Sea ports by the Russian army," says Roksolana Pidlas. At the same time, exports to Moldova grew 15% due to the fact that the country has become one of the transit directions for Ukrainian goods. As Roksolana Podlas explained, total exports to the CIS country from January to October 2022 amounted to $ 1. 27 billion.

Also, a positive trend was observed before the major invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine: Ukrainian exports from the CIS country have grown over several years. Even if Russia and Belarus, Ukraine exported 27% more than in 2021 in 2021. Recall that in February 2022, Ukraine signed an agreement on the free trade area with Turkey. According to the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, within the FTA Turkey will seize a trade duty on 10 337 headings, 95% of the total number of goods exported by Ukraine.

Tariff quotas will operate at 1348. Ukraine will receive improved export conditions to the Turkish market for processed agricultural products. The agreement also completely eliminates Turkey's duties on industrial products. Earlier, Focus told that Ukrainians would pay compensation for destroyed housing without waiting for reparations from the Russian Federation.
