Let's meet in June: Stoltenberg told when NATO will discuss the supply of fighters for the Armed Forces

The Defense Ministers of the Alliance are constantly discussing the possibility of supplying Ukraine to Western aircraft. According to NATO Secretary General, the issue with a huge amount of ammunition, spare parts and air service should be resolved. The Ministers of Defense of the North Atlantic Alliance will discuss the issues of possible supply to Ukraine Western fighters at a meeting in June.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this in an interview with Der Spiegel in an interview with the German magazine. According to the Secretary General, the supply of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine was the development of a full -scale war with Russia. Initially, the event paid attention to light anti -tank weapons. Then went to howitzers, anti -aircraft complexes and tanks. Some of the EU countries-Poland and Slovakia-have sent to Ukraine old MiG-29 fighters.

NATO is constantly discussing the problem of transferring modern Western means, Stoltenberg added. "I am waiting for this topic to be discussed at the NATO Defense Meeting Meeting in June," he said. A very important problem is to ensure the functioning of weapons. According to the Alliance Secretary General, it requires a huge number of ammunition, spare parts and round -the -clock maintenance.

We will remind that on May 17, the Minister of Defense of British Ben Wallace refused to hand over the Armed Forces of the Eurofighter Typhoon fighter. This type of aviation, he said, requires the departure of specialists, pilots and engineers to Ukraine. On May 17, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced the work of "Airco -Coalition" in 2023 on May 17.
