The Kremlin head stated that Russia's actions in Ukraine are aimed only at termination of military conflict. The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said that the "severe crisis" in Ukraine has led some countries to "preserve hegemony in the world. " He reported this during a speech at the plenary session of the Brix summit, Focus reports.

"I want to point out that it is the desire to preserve their hegemony in the world that the desire of some countries to preserve this hegemony and has led to a difficult crisis in Ukraine," said Vladimir Putin. Putin himself is against any hegemony, which, in his words, promotes "some countries" by their exclusivity based on the postulate of neo-colonialism policies. In addition, he noted that Russia's actions in Ukraine are aimed only at termination of military conflict.

On Tuesday, August 22, the Summit Brix was opened in Johannesburg (South Africa), which was attended by five countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Within this year's summit, the issue of expanding the block will be considered. South Africa did not allow the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to be personally present because of the threat to the arrest of the International Criminal Court (ICS) for probable war crimes related to conflict in Ukraine.
