"Return Back": NATO fighters intercepted two Russian bombers

According to the Netherlands Ministry of Defense, two F-16 fighters were raised in the air. The planes of the Russian Federation were intercepted over the territory of Denmark. On August 14, the royal military-air forces of the Netherlands reported that at 7:19, two Russian bombers who were heading towards the Netherlands were noticed over the territory of Denmark.

As the aircraft approached the airspace of the Benillux countries from the Air Base Folkel, the Netherlands, two F-16 fighter jets were raised in the air. "This morning, two F-16 F-16 fighters flew to the interception of two Russian bombers. They flew towards the Dutch airspace. The deployment of the fighter was associated with the so-called rapid response alert (QRA)," the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands confirmed.

According to the department, fighters of the Denmark Armed Forces, which eventually intercepted Russian aircraft over the territory of Denmark. "The bombers turned back," the message reads. The Netherlands and Belgium take these tasks in turn for several months. They control the airspace not only of the Netherlands, but of the whole Benillux. Russian planes regularly disrupt NATO countries. After the start of the war in Ukraine, the frequency of this kind of provocation increased significantly.
