They come not from the front, but from the rear: new "quiet" drones of the Armed Forces make the Russian Federation change tactics - Newsweek

Compared to the previous version, the new "Baba Yaga" has greater range. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation notice these drones only with the help of thermal imagers: their flight was not heard. Russian troops in the south of Ukraine are forced to change the defense strategy to confront the new modification of the "silent" shock drones of Ukraine. Newsweek writes about it, referring to the statement of the former head of the Russian Space Agency.

Kyiv increased the range and secrecy of its Baba-Yaga drones, recognized in his statement, Roscosmos Exglav Dmitry Rogozin. According to him, compared to the previous version, the new "grandmother" has a greater range, so they "came not from the front but from the rear. " He also noted that the drones were noticed only with the help of night vision cameras. They were placed in advance around the perimeter of the occupation group, Rogozin said, adding that these drones were not heard at all.

But in the thermal imagers they looked at a few kilometers. It is noteworthy that the new modification of the UAV was not opened: "We will later destroy them when we study their habits, routes and tactics. " According to Rogozin, it is not necessary to knock down the drones, but to determine the location of the operators. Earlier, Rogozin called Baba-Yaga drones extremely dangerous for Russian troops.

He also posted a photo of Ukrainian "drones" stopped by the Russian Reben "Thunderstorm" of the last modification. It is believed that this Ukrainian UAV is a modified agricultural drone, which is often projected as a quadcopter, hexacopter or octocopeter. Samuel Bendett from the American Analytical Center CNA noted that Russia is trying to develop its own version of this drone, but so far Baba Yaga has no analogues for a load. According to Bendett, Ukrainians are experts in managing such drones.

Ukraine uses these systems during night operations. The speed of their flight is about 60 km/h, earlier stated Rogozin. At the same time, he said that FPV is smaller and faster. Bendett noted that it is more difficult to protect against UAVs at night, and Russian troops do not have such systems that could tolerate explosives of the same weight. According to him, it is known that the Russians change the settings in the beaten "Babi Yazi" and launch them as their own.
