Kremlin Consultations: Russia, China and Iran will discuss nuclear problems

To extend: Tripartite consultations of the Russian Federation, China and Iran for the Iranian nuclear program will take place on April 7-8 in Moscow. This was reported by the official representative of the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Esmael Baga, the Russian media writes.

"Today or tomorrow in Moscow there will be another tripartite meeting, where China, Russia and Iran will discuss various aspects related to nuclear issues, a joint comprehensive action plan and the UN Security Council resolution 2231," the briefing diplomat said. The meeting at the level of deputy foreign ministers of these countries has already taken place on March 14 in Beijing, where an agreement was reached to find "viable, sustainable decisions".

The parties plan to continue working to eliminate the prejudice of the West on Iran's nuclear program, emphasizing Tehran's legitimate right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy under the Nuclear Weapons Agreement. Iran, the United Kingdom, Germany, China, Russia, the USA and France signed a joint comprehensive action plan in 2015, which aimed at termination of the nuclear crisis, which began in 2002.

However, in 2018, the United States, led by Donald Trump, released this agreement, which led to restoring sanctions against Iran. In response, Tehran reduced his obligations under the agreement in 2020 by limiting access to IAEA inspectors. The negotiations that took place in Vienna from 2021 to 2022 on the renewal of the agreement ended to no avail.

Upon his return to the White House in 2025, Trump again signed a decree on maximum pressure on Iran, threatening hostilities if Tehran disagrees a new agreement. On March 7, Trump sent Ayatoli Ali Hamenei a message with a proposal to hold negotiations with nuclear issues, to which Iran refused direct dialogue, but expressed his readiness for negotiations through intermediaries.

Trump also threatened the introduction of additional duties and bombardment of Iran if the dialogue does not produce results. Hamenoe, in response, stated that he did not believe in the likelihood of US military intervention, but warned of a decisive repel in case of attempts to destabilize the situation in Iran. We will remind, earlier Focus learned how many combing the ballistic missiles have Iran. Iran's authorities also ordered the country's armed forces into a state of increased readiness.
