Russian Federation wants to get 1500 tanks and 3000 BBM in the next two years: how real it is

According to researchers, the West has overestimated the ability to prevent the supply of important components to the Russian defendant. Therefore, the Russian Federation increases production and restores old equipment. The Russian army wants to get thousands of modernized and new equipment in 2025 and 2026. This is stated in the new study Royal United Services Institute, which analyzes the state of the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation.

Analysts have explored how the Western countries have overestimated their own opportunities to influence the supply of important elements to the Russian defense. The world sanctions were effective against terrorist structures, but not against whole states or large corporations. In addition, there is still no system of data exchange between countries that have imposed sanctions against the Kremlin.

Separately, the report writes about the plans of the Russian Federation in the increase of production. In 2024-2025, Russian enterprises have to fulfill orders for: about 80% will be restored and upgraded reserves. However, new weapons are also increasing. In particular, Rusi estimates that the Russian Federation was able to produce 500 BMP-3 in 2023. In 2022, the entire Russian army had 600 such infantry fighting vehicles.

There is also evidence that the enemy increases the production of winged missiles, including X-101. In 2021, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation set the purpose to produce 350 ammunition per year, but the real figure was at 56 units. In 2022, the Defense Office had already demanded 460 missiles X-101, and in fact 420 were made. The Defense Express was added that it was worth being careful with the numbers, as researchers could take them from Russian sources of information.
