The only thing that can be imported so far is cereals, which are delivered by winter. Passenger flights fly only once a week and only in good weather. This is reported by the Russian publication Moscow Times. The situation with medical care is no less critical. The village's only paramedic left back in February, and now we have to wait for an ambulance from Nizhnyoudynsk, which is 200 kilometers away. That's where the residents go for medicine.
The head of the village, Andriy Romanov, explains the problems with a lack of funds and the war in Ukraine. According to him, difficulties with medical care are typical for many villages in the region: doctors do not go to the villages because of problems with housing and communication. "Let's take 20 kilometers from the city - we have probably 60 percent of the paramedic stations closed. And it seems that this is the situation throughout the region," said Romanov.
He denied reports of a complete food shortage, but admitted that food supplies have become less frequent due to the high cost of flights. Sending one helicopter costs about 650 thousand rubles, while a ticket for a passenger costs only 2 thousand, which makes flights economically unprofitable. Problems of a similar nature are observed in Yakutia. From Monday, October 21, bus routes connecting the villages with the regional center will stop working there.
