The Russians have changed the tactics for the use of shock and reconnaissance UA...

Ukraine is urgently creating Shahheda and Orlans fighters: the requirements of the Armed Forces and how will the Cobra help

The Russians have changed the tactics for the use of shock and reconnaissance UAVs, so it became much more difficult to knock down. The forces of defense needed new means of combating them, and as soon as possible. Development engineer Vitaliy Brizgalov, who joined the initiative shared with focus details of the project. Russian aggressors are actively using not only Shahaneda drones, but also intelligence drones, which have often been flew to the rear of Ukraine recently and do great harm.

The problem has become so acute that the Brave1 State Platform and Air Defense forces began to attract engineers to the creation of weapons against Russian aircraft, including unmanned interceptors or fighters. The focus was told by Vitaliy Brizgalov, the head of the team of developers from Kryvyi Rih, who produces drones-Kamikadze "Kobra".

According to Bryzgalov, in the fall a large number of military people from the forefront have repeatedly addressed and asked to think about the means of destroying Russian reconnaissance drones "Orlan", which are very disturbing, especially when the weather is good. They fly very high, so they are almost nothing to knock. "We have a fairly steep" Cobra "plane, which flies well and high. It can perform specific tasks.

We feel the problem of lack According to the alarm, the causes of which are more or less deciphered by different methods. . In the end, the Kobra developers were contacted by military from mobile air defense groups and said that the occupiers changed the tactics of using Shahaneda, which became a big problem. The last month of Dron-Kamikadze is raised much higher and used to exhaust rocket complexes. Now "Shahda" is not visible in thermal imagers and not reach them with small arms.

It remains only to knock out rockets that are extremely expensive and their stocks are limited. "The last drop was Brave1 initiative. That is, the problem became so noticeable that even the air defense command appealed to do something. Brave1 has long been a direction to fight" Shahmed ", now they decided to reduce the requirements and expand, including intelligence drones:" Orlans " , Zala, Supercam. . Because the problem is very acute. Complete this task.

" Brave1 experts who have been overstating this area have already created a special landfill for testing these projects, and offered to join the initiative to the teams that can help. Recently, the platform organized the developers to meet with a potential customer - air defense forces. They discussed minimal and desirable requirements, offered assistance in testing and completing aircraft necessary to combat Russian UAVs.

"To all teams that have created devices with appropriate technical characteristics, air defense provides access to their detection systems. It is so big that the military is ready to cooperate at any level. They consider two directions: anti-aircraft systems and fighters. I advise all teams that work In this direction, to join, because there is a big problem in the lack of means of detection and guidance.

In the sky, even with preliminary guidance, it is very, very difficult, " - said Vitaliy Brizgalov to Ukrainians. The General Staff of the Armed Forces made the requirement that new UAV systems to combat UAVs are as automated as possible, because it will be very difficult for the operator to find and destroy the Russian reconnaissance. They want the apparatus to fly into the potential interception zone, captured the target and hit it after detecting and primary.

The air defense provides pre -detection data, and all other stages should be performed by the autonomous system. Professional pilots understand much easier when you can look at all 360 degrees than when you are on Earth, and the board flies in the sky, limited by cameras. So now the creators of Kobra, together with other teams, are working on the installation of equipment on board, which would look for unmanned aircraft in space.

The Armed Forces General Staff is betting on automation, but Vitaliy Brizgalov noted that there are significant restrictions on time, cost and technical capabilities. At present, there are no small onboard targets in Ukraine, and radars are a very complex and valuable thing, especially if they are able to detect a small aircraft within at least 3 km. They are abroad and cost ten times more than any means of damage.

Vitaliy Brizgalov was surprised to learn the specific cost of such equipment: "If you take a banal thermal imager with a large lens, which can be 2-3 km away without interference with another airplane in the sky, it can cost $ 5-6 thousand. If you take Radarny Systems are tens of thousands of dollars, but it should be a landing station that will further illuminate the target, and it will be instantly discovered by the enemy.

As for the means of the defeat, many teams now consider kinetic in the form of Kamikadze aircraft, which will beat hostile remedies. On the one hand, Ukrainians have expensive drones that have to find a goal and put a regular thermal imager on board. On the other hand, there is no ammunition that could affect the reconnaissance apparatus, retaining the board itself. Putting valuable radars or cameras that can detect targets at a long distance is not very profitable.

"We understand that the value of" Orlan "is great, and the damage it causes is not even measured by money, but the teams of developers in the first stage still bear these costs on their own. During the test and refinement, you have to break the boards and test on targets. These UAVs should be made at the expense of investors, volunteers or our own. Vitaliy Brizgalov added that together with the team he does not plan to make disposable planes-interceptors.

The mobile fire groups to combat Shahaneda themselves were offered to produce a fairly cheap and efficient "cobra" so that it could make at least a few departures. For this purpose, the military also develops certain systems and tools to install on the aircraft and use it at least two or three times. If suddenly the weapon does not work or does not hit, then in the last stage it makes sense to raise an enemy aircraft.

The military does not want to limit the developers of interceptors in any way, it is only necessary to offer, but established minimal tactical and technical characteristics: 15 km-radius of work, 1. 5 km-maximum height, 150 km/h-speed. These are the smallest requirements that they agree to be in vain not to waste time and resources on the test. Only such aircraft can potentially perform combat missions if it is equipped with detection systems.

According to Vitaliy Brizgalov, there are many weapons against drones: machine guns, shotguns, nets and so on. The air defense fighters are even ready to consider the option so that several aircraft attack one goal. But fighters who work against Shahaneda say that the balls are a bad remedy, because a lot of whipped drones continued to fly after dozens of dozens, having many holes. The hole wings do not interfere with "Shahanedam", you need to get into some critical components.

"It is hard to predict what works better. Against small electrical reconnaissance drones such as SuperCam, you can work with nets, but if you apply them against Shahaneda, it will not give anything, it will break any net with shovels and fly with it further. If the Orlan, then look at the fragments or kinetic, such as small arms, such as shotguns.
