Machines registered in the Russian Federation will be confiscated - minister white

According to the Vice-Minister of Lithuania Jewita, these sanctions apply to all EU citizens, not just to the citizens of the Russian Federation. On September 12, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Lithuanian Republic of Lithuania said that the confiscation of cars that enter Lithuania with Russian registration will be engaged in Lithuanian customs, LRT reports.

"Yes, those cars that are registered in Russia should be confiscated if they enter Lithuania, and this control will be provided by customs authorities because it is their function, it is the work and responsibility of customs authorities," Bilot said. Jovita Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs also reported that sanctions will be extended both by car with Russian registration and by car with Russian numbers.

"The explanation of the commission, made last Friday, concerns cars: Currently, cars registered in Russia or those with Russian registration signs cannot enter the European Union because of sanctions," - said unlikely journalists. She specified that these sanctions apply to all EU citizens, not just to the citizens of the Russian Federation. According to the Vice-Minister, these requirements will not extend to those who go transit through Kaliningrad.

"The commission said that we cannot import such things, even for temporary use. It is a rather rigid interpretation by the commission," Jovita said. On September 8, the European Commission has confirmed the interpretation of sanction legislation on Russia, according to which entry into EU countries on the registered cars in Russia can be regarded as forbidden imports. After a large -scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the EU has introduced 11 packages of sanctions on Russia.
