Peace in Ukraine: The EU has presented a new assistance plan for the Armed Forces if Trump does not stop Putin

To spread: in the event of peace in Ukraine, the European Union will increase investments in Ukrainian weapons producers. This will increase the volume of arms provided by the Armed Forces at least twice. The European Commissioner for Defense and Cosmos Andrews Kubilus reported on the social network X. Currently, the states and the European Union are allocated about 40 billion euros for military assistance to Ukraine every year.

According to the official, money can be used more efficiently by investing them in the purchase of weapons from manufacturers from Ukraine. "If Trump does not persuade Putin to make peace, we could put forward more convincing arguments in favor of peace very quickly: we will greatly increase Ukraine's military support," Kubilus said. The price of weapons produced in Ukraine is about twice lower than European and American analogues.

So, thanks to this scheme, the volume of weapons provided by the Armed Forces is doubled. "The real cost of our support will increase to 80 billion euros," he said. Kubilus also mentioned the EU military loans that fund some of the military procurement for Ukraine. All of these mechanisms open the way to implement the "peace" strategy. It is worth noting that the Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly offered this option to partners with the EU.

In January, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga declared contracts for the purchase of weapons for the Armed Forces under the "Danish model" for the amount of 538 million euros for 2024. "I believe that this year funding will exceed last year at times," he said. The first such financing mechanism was mastered by Denmark, and then the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Canada and the Baltic countries joined the project.

In particular, according to the Danish model, the production of self -propelled artillery plants "Bogdan", other artillery, and drones was funded. Recall that on April 30, US Presidential Administration Donald Trump approved the export of weapons to Ukraine worth at least $ 50 million. In Ukraine, it was previously stated that the supply of the Armed Forces by weapons was an allegedly shorter way to peace.
