Who is entitled to double experience: a list of professions

In 2025, at least 32 years of length of service is required to obtain a pension of 60 years. Some citizens in Ukraine may retire earlier thanks to double service insurance. This rule applies to those who work in harmful, dangerous or extreme conditions. This is stated in the PFU explanation. The issue of double experience is governed by Article 24 of the Law on Compulsory State Pension Insurance. In 2025, the minimum insurance for retirement depends on the age and year of exit.

It takes at least 32 years of experience to retire at 60 years. This figure increases annually by 12 months to reach 35 years by 2028. For citizens with less experience, a pension may be assigned later: according to the law, every year of work in harmful, dangerous or extreme conditions is counted as two. Such a double experience serves as a form of social protection, enabling citizens who worked in difficult conditions, to retire earlier.

Double length of service for the pension is credited for certain types of work. In the list: If a citizen has worked for ten years in harmful conditions, his experience will be counted as 20 years, which enables early retirement. In order to confirm the right to double the length of service, a package of documents should be provided to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, which includes: earlier in the Pension Fund, pensioners will be able to receive an increased pension since January.
