Turkey presented a new sniper rifle KNT-859: what is the feature of weapons (video)

To spread: at the IDEF 2025 International Defense Exhibition in Istanbul, the Turkish company MKE officially introduced a semi-automatic sniper rifle KNT-859, developed under a powerful . 338 Lapua Magnum (8. 59 × 70 mm). The novelty is focused on meeting the growing NATO requirements to long -range and high -precision shooting platforms. Weapons have become a key addition to the Turkish rifle family for Milli Piyade Tüfeği, but is favorably different from sniper rifles under caliber.

This was reported by Army Recognition Operators. The new sample provides a greater efficient firing range and better armor -proofing due to the much higher duplicate energy and the ballistic coefficient of the used ammunition.

But the main difference from the predecessors is that KNT-859 is equipped with a semi-automatic charging mechanism, so that the Sagittarius can run a rapid and accurate fire at distances of up to 1500 meters, while maintaining control of weapons and shortening the time between shots.

Analysts point out that this weapon system is created on the basis of engineering solutions implemented in the earlier project KN-12, and it demonstrates a high degree of modularity, reliability and compatibility with available systems, which is especially important for the NATO Army and Forces.

The KNT-859 rifle was designed with the integration into the arsenals of NATO Armies, it is able to compete with systems such as Sako TRG-42 and Barrett Mrad, the latter are also used by Ukrainian snipers on the front line. And in the face of a growing need for universal and effective sniper systems capable of acting in different climatic and geographical conditions, KNT-859 can become one of the important export products of Turkish MIC.

The technical characteristics of KNT-859 Recall that at the beginning of the year, the Defense Forces received a party of German sniper rifles HLR 338. Experts noted the excellent long-range of weapons with a significant decrease in weight compared to analogues. Earlier, Focus wrote about the preparation of Ukrainian Marxmen from the 77th Separate Airmobile of the Dnieper Brigade of DShV of Ukraine at one of the landfills.
