If the United States does not help Ukraine, allies will create nuclear weapons programs - Polish Minister

Radoslav Sikorsky believes that Washington will disappoint the Allies if he cannot help Ukraine. Nevertheless, EU members will be able to hand over a million shells to the Ukrainian side. If the US Congress does not approve of assistance to Ukraine, many countries will think about developing nuclear weapons programs. This is how Polish Foreign Minister Radoslav Sikorsky believes, sharing his thoughts in an interview with Bloomberg.

If the United States does not help, the allies will be disappointed in Washington, who is "unable to help", so they will need to rely on themselves. "It will have a profound consequence for all American alliances around the world. Countries will start to insure themselves," Sikorsky said. The Polish Minister noted that in this case, the Allies will consider the development of nuclear weapons programs.

Radoslav Sikorsky also stressed that EU members will be able to fulfill a promise to give Ukraine a million artillery shells. According to the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, the Allies have already been able to collect about 850 thousand shells. The US Senate in February 2024 voted in favor of the help of Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan totaling $ 95 billion.

Ukraine must receive 61 billion of them, however, the bill for the entry into force of the House of Representatives of the United States and the signature of President Joe Biden should be obtained. A significant obstacle was that a few days after the Voting of the Senate for help Ukraine, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson refused to consider him, and the congressmen went to vacations until February 28.
