The new report of November 24 states that the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia proposed to create a single platform for storing and processing materials from all CCTV systems in the country. The cost of such a project is approximately $ 134 million or 12 billion Russian rubles.
"The Ministry of Digital Development of Russia plans to increase the number of surveillance cameras throughout Russia to five million to 2030 and integrate them with all with software for recognizing faces and images," the report reads.
Analysts noted that the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia made an attempt to advance a similar initiative in 2020-2022 within the project of the hardware and software complex "Safe City" aimed at standardization and installation of observation systems with software of artificial intelligence in the Russian regions. However, then the agency was criticized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Economy of Russia.
Earlier, the media wrote that Russian President Vladimir Putin was already preparing for the new elections in 2024. Yes, the election result will directly affect Russia's military strategy. In particular, whether Putin wins, depends on whether a new mobilization that will be unpopular in the population will be announced after the election.
